Back home
Last night mom and met in a tiny town called Neihart, which is about 8 miles from Showdown. The place we stayed at was awesome. It was called Bob’s, but was owned by a guy named Tony. Tony was the receptionist at the hotel, the bartender in the bar, and the waiter in the restaurant. The building was a combination of all three of things. He also sold us our ski tickets. One of the locals bought us our first drink and the rest is history. Waking up to go skiing this morning was not the funnest thing I have ever done, but I got thru it.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The weather was perfect and the snow was even better. We heard a skier in the rental shop say he had been everywhere and that Showdown’s snow was the best in the state. It was really awesome. I rented boots and skis and the boots sucked. My legs don’t fit into ski boots like they should. After I unbuckled the boots at lunch and then rebuckled them my feet were getting no circulation. We called it quits fairly early and hit the road. It was nice to know that I can still ski. It had been a few years since the last time.
When I got home hubster and I watched a movie called The Invention of Lying. It was actually pretty good. I am tired now and I got sunburned today so I feel even more tired. I think it’s time to take a bath and finish up Patient Zero – review to come on that book.
