101 in 1001
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. (Learn more here.)
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
My start date is March 30, 2009 and my end date is December 26, 2011.
My List:
1. Buy a nice digital camera Got the Canon T1I!
2. Visit a country I haven’t been to
3. Exercise on the eliptical three times a week for at least 30 min.
4. Send each of my friends a homemade birthday card
5. Have a $400 Stampin’ Up! party
6. Make 10 new pairs of earrings to sell in my etsy shop (0/10)
7. Blog everything I complete on this list (2/101)
8. Take a digital photography class
9. Learn how to knit mittens
10. Take a yarn spinning & dying class
11. Knit a scarf with my own handspun & died yarn
12. Learn to crochet
13. Participate in NaBloPoMo and earn at least three badges.
14. Master Photoshop Elements
15. Go to a Renaissance Faire
16. Design and buy my own chicken coop and fill it with bantys
17. Make a “day in the life” album
18. Design a rubber stamp and have it made
19. Bake cookies for Michael from scratch
20. Tell Michael I love him at least 3 times a day
21. Make at least 10 handmade cards to sell in my etsy shop (0/10)
